Hi, I'm KATHERINE

Who here sometimes secretly feels a little bit bored by their business?

It happens to the best of us, we go from when adrenaline fueled launch to a strange state of plateau and it can be challenging to maintain momentum and inspiration. That’s where discipline and systems come in..

It feels so much better to feel inspired while you’re at it!

That’s what this Monthly Muse is intended to do.

Monthly Muse

Give you a burst of inspiration, aha moments and little nuggets that see you through the boring bits.

Every month I like to create a theme of what we are focusing on in the business both from a professional and personal development perspective. This serves as a reminder for the team on ways we can improve, tweak and enhance our day-to-day activities.

As we reflect on the mid-year mark and reflect on our milestones this end of the financial year, the theme of expansion seems timely and stretchy.

For me, something feels expansive when mixed with feelings of hope, excitement and a healthy dose of nervous anticipation. We can’t be too comfy if we’re expanding after all!

Sometimes it can be challenging to know what we’re expanding into without inspiration, references and guidance.

So with this theme in mind, I’ve rounded up a list of things that have been supporting our expansion in the hopes that it will help you too.

JUNE | MONTHLY MUSE:

  • Leah Hermozi’s latest video on having a wealthy mindset was absolute gold – no pun intended! It’s the kind of advice I wish was taught in schools. My top takeaway – different ways of making money require different skill sets ie. growing a business does not involve the same skills as investing).

  • I was today years old when I learned …. If you run a lifestyle business you aren’t considered a ‘small business’ owner but actually a micro business. According to the Small Business Association, a micro-business has less than 10 employees. I have mixed feelings about this, no wonder it can be so challenging for solopreneurs to gain business funding when they’re considered to be ‘micro’ business and by extension may not qualify for small business funds. It also suggests that models for assessing the validity of businesses are still based on traditional views of what it means to be a successful business i.e. employer count rather than profit. Yes, these are sweeping statements that require deeper thought and further analysis and it’s something I’ll be chewing on further. These titles don’t need to be determinative rather, ways for us to reflect on what we consider to be a successful business on our own terms and perhaps a calling for government institutions to rethink what makes a viable business.

  • I’ve been diving into Kate Northrup’s program on somatic abundance to help physically rewire the body’s conditioning around ancestral traumas through body movements. Very powerful and fascinating stuff!

  • Dashthis – a unified dashboard reporting software so you can analyse your data automatically all in one space. This has been long overdue for us and an absolute timesaver for the team! Plus, clients love the transparency.

  • Mocktails like this one while working has been helping me romanticize the mundane and stay focused during a long day of work. Refreshing, healthy and delicious!

The biggest thing I’m realizing about expansion is that if you challenge yourself in one aspect of your life it reflects in other wonderful ways.

One of our clients took a huge leap investing in us and without even actioning teh marketing systems yet she is already receiving more clients than ever! Coincidence? Unlikely.. She is showing up differently and people pick up on that.

EXPANSIVE WINS:  I recently invested in Ads for the first time and started seriously posting on socials. Within 2 weeks we had a sales call booked and grew our account to 80 followers within 3 weeks. Not bad!  The ads are performing remarkably well with over 8 calls booked in just 7 days. I’m excited to see how this evolves!

What has been inspiring you lately? Do you have a  monthly theme or focus point?
